After our first two years in business, Hot didely Dogs had sold over 25,000 hot dogs to the ever-growing crowd in the Northern Suburbs of the Illawarra. This was achieved from a static position with out parking opposite Mc Donalds! We also were competing with 2 Kebab stores either side of us which was for my money the PERFECT environment to test the viability of my idea. Over this period the shop did most of its business on Friday and Saturday evenings.
I decided it was time to take the concept mobile and chase my customers to their favorite night clubs and parties. Best thing I ever did! I receive invitations to all sorts of events far and wide, many of which I simply cannot service. Shortly after the decision to go mobile I also moved the business to Sydney where people are recieving the didely dogs as readily as they did in the Gong. Difference is... theres millions of people here and I'm gunna need a hand!
The business is now ready to franchise and I have trimmed everything possible off the entry costs to value ad to something that put very simply, "just works". With the current economic climate, a business that pays for itself in the first year and grows as fast as you choose to make it grow is exciting to say the least!
